In songs of sweet untiring praise,
We would, to everlasting days,
Make all His glories known.

4 And soon the happy day shall come, When we shall reach our destin'd home, And see Him face to face;

Then with our Saviour, Brother, Friend,
The one unbroken day we'll spend
In singing still His grace.

CLXXXVII.-6, 6, 6, 6, 8, 8

1 JOIN all the glorious names Of wisdom, love, and pow'r,

That mortals ever knew,

That angels ever bore;

All are too mean to speak His worth,
Too mean to set the Saviour forth.

2 Great Prophet of our God!

Our tongues must bless Thy name, By Whom the joyful news

Of our salvation came;

The joyful news of sins forgiv❜n,
Of hell subdu'd, of peace with heav'n.

3 Thou art our Counsellor,

Our Pattern, and our Guide, And Thou our Shepherd art;

Ah, keep us near Thy side; Nor let our feet e'er run astray, Or wander in the crooked way.

4 We love Thy well-known voice,
And trust Thine eye to keep
Our wand'ring souls among

The thousands of God's sheep;
Feed Thou His flock, call Thou their names,
And gently lead the tender lambs.

CLXXXVIII.-SECOND PART.

1 Should all the hosts of death,
And pow'rs of hell unknown,
Put their most dreadful forms
Of rage and mischief on,

We shall be safe, while Christ displays
His guardian and Almighty grace.

2 O Thou Almighty Lord!

Hell's conqueror and King,
Thy sceptre and Thy sword,

Thy love and grace we sing;

Thine is our pow'r, and we would sit,
In willing bonds, close at Thy feet.

3 Yet, help us now to rise,

And tread the tempter down ; O Jesus, lead us forth

To conquest, and the crown; And feeble saints shall win the day, Though death and Hell obstruct the way.

CLXXXIX.-7s.

1 JESUS, Saviour of the soul,
Let us to Thy bosom fly,
While the raging billows roll,
While the tempest still is high;
Hide us, O our Saviour, hide,
Till the storm of life is past:
Safe into the haven guide,

There receive Thy church at last.

2 Other refuge have we none,

Helpless, hanging still on Thee;
Leave, O leave us not alone,

Still our stay and comfort be;

All our trust on Thee is stay'd,
All our help from Thee we bring;
Cover each defenceless head

With the shadow of Thy wing.

3 Thou, O Lord, art all we want, Boundless love in Thee we find; Raise the fallen, cheer the faint,

Heal the sick, and lead the blind. Just and holy is Thy name,

We are all unrighteousness;

We are full of sin and shame
Thou art full of truth and grace.

4 Plenteous grace with Thee is found
Grace to pardon ev'ry sin;
Let the healing streams abound,
Make and keep us pure within.
Thou of life the fountain art,
Freely let us take of Thee;
Spring Thou up within each heart,
Rise to all eternity.

CXC.-8, 6.

1 SINCE Thou, the everlasting God,
Our Father art become;

Jesus, our Guardian and our Friend,
And heav'n our final home;

2 We welcome all Thy sov'reign will For all Thy will is love;

And when we know not what Thou dost, We wait the light above.

3 Thy gracious love in all our need
Shall heav'nly light impart ;
And be our theme of endless praise,
When all things else depart.

CXCI.-7s.

1 CHRIST deliver'd me when bound,
And, when wounded, heal'd my wound,
Sought me wand'ring, set me right,
Turn'd my darkness into light.

2 Can a mother's tender care
Cease toward the child she bare?
Yes, she may forgetful be,
Yet will He remember me.

3 His is an unchanging love,
Higher than the heights above,
Deeper than the depths beneath,
Free and faithful, strong as death.

4 I shall see His glory soon,

When the work of grace is done,
