Chap. vii.

24 The LORD bless thee, and keep thee; 25 The LORD make his face shine upon thee, and be gracious unto thee;

26 The LORD lift up his countenance upon thee, and give thee peace.

27 And they thail put my name upon the children of Ifrael, and I will bless them. CHAP. VII. 3, 30 The princes' offerings, 89 God speaketh to Mofes from the mercy-feut. AND it came to pafs on the day that Mofes

had fully fet up the tabernacle, and had ancinted it, and sanctified it, and all the instruments thereof, both the altar and all the vellels thereof, and had anointed them, and fanctified them,

2 That the princes of Ifrael, heads of the house of their fathers, (who were the princes of the tribes, and were over them that were numbered,) offered.

3 And they brought their offering before the LORD, fix covered waggons, and twelve oxen; a waggon for two of the princes, and for each one an ox: and they brought them before the tabernacle.

4 And the LORD fpake unto Mofes, faying, s Take it of them, that they may be to do the fervice of the tabernacle of the congregation; and thou shalt give them unto The Levites, to every man according to his fervice.

11 And the LORD faid unto Mofes, They hall offer their offering, each prince on his day, for the dedicating of the altar.

12 And he that offered his offering the first day was Nahthon the fon of Amminadab, of the tribe of Judah.

13 And his offering was one filver charger, the weight whereof was an hundred and thirty ekels, one filver bowl of feventy thekels, after the fhekel of the fanctuary, both of them were full of fine flour mingled with oil, for a meat offering:

14 One spoon of ten sbekels of gold, full of Incense:

24 On the third day Eliab the fon of Helon, prince of the children of Zebulun, did offer. 25 His offering was one filver charger, the weight whereof was an hundred and thirty bekels, one filver bowl of feventy fhekels, af ter the fhekel of the fanctuary, both of them full of fine flour mingled with oil, for a meatoffering:

26 One golden spoon of ten shekels, full of incenfe:

27 One young bullock, one ram, one lamb of the first year, for a burnt-offering:

28 One kid of the goats for a fin-offering: 29 And for a facrifice of peace-offerings, two oxen, five rams, five he-goats, five lambs of the first year. This was the offering of Eliab the fon of Helon.

30 On the fourth day Flizur the fon of Shedeur, prince of the children of Reuben, did offer.

31 His offering was one filver charger, of the weight of an hundred and thirty jbekelt, one fiiver bowl of feventy thekels, after the thekel of the fanctuary, both of them full of fine flour mingled with oil, for a meat offer. ing:

32 One golden spoon of ten sbekels, full of incenfe:

33 One young bullock, one ram, one lamb of the first year, for a burnt-offering:

34 One kid of the goats for a fin-offering: 35 And for a facrifice of peace-offerings, two oxen, five rams, five he-goats, five lanirs of the first year. This was the offering of Elizur the fon of Shedeur.

36 On the fifth day Shelumiel the fon of Zurifhaddai, prince of the children of Simeon, did offer.

37 His offering was one filver charger, the weight whereof was an hundred and thirty bekels, one filver bowl of feventy thekels, after the thekel of the fanctuary, both of them full of fine flour mingled with oil, for a meat-offering:

38 One golden spoon of ten shekels, full of incense:

39 One young bullock, one ram, one lamb of the first year, for a burnt-offering:

40 One kid of the goats for a fin-offering: 41 And for a facrifice of peace-offerings, two oxen, five rams, five he-goats, five lambs of the first year. This was the offering of Shelumiel the fon of Zurifhaddai.

42 On the fixth day Eliafaph the fon of Deuel, prince of the children of Gad, offered.

48 On the feventh day Elishama the fon of Ammihud, prince of the children of Ephraim, offered.

72 On the eleventh day Pagiel the fon of Ocran, prince of the children of Ather, offered. 73 His offering was one filver charger, the weight whereot was an hundred and thirty ekels, one silver bowl of feventy thekels, after the thekel of the fanctuary, both of them iull of fine flour mingled with oil, for a meat-offering:

78 On the twelfth day Ahira, the fon of Enan, prince of the children of Naphtali, offered.

79 His offering was one filver charger, the weight whereof was an hundred and thirty bekels, one filver bowl of feventy thekels, after the thekel of the fanctuary, both of them full of fine flour mingled with oil, for a meat-offering:

80 One golden fpoon of ten sekels, full of incenfe :

81 One young bullock, one ram, one lamb of the first year, for a burnt-offering:

84 This was the dedication of the altar, in the day when it was anointed by the princes of Ifrael: twelve chargers of silver, twelve filver bowls, twelve fpoons of gold;

85 Each charger of filver weighing an hun. dred and thirty rekels, cach bowi feventy: all the filver vefels weighed two thousand and four hundred pekels, after the fhekel of the fanctuary.

86 The golden fpoons were twelve, full of incenfe, weighing ten stekels apiece, after the fhekel of the fanctuary: all the gold of the fpoons was an hundred and twenty jbekels.

87 All the oxen forthe burnt-offering quere twelve bullocks, the rams twelve, the lambs of the first year twelve, with their meatoffering and the kids of the goats, for inoffering, twelve.

88 And all the oxen for the facrifice of the peace-offerings were twenty and four bul locks, the rams fixty, the he-goats fixty, the lambs of the first year fixty. This wat the dedication of the altar, after that it was anointed.

89 And when Mofes was gone into the tsbernacle of the congregation to speak with him, then he heard the voice of one fpeaking unto him from of the mercy-feat that spas upon the ark of teftimony, from between the two cherubims: and he spake unto him. CHAP. VIII. 1 How the lamps are to be lighted. 5 The confecration of the Levites: 23 the azt and time of their fervice.

8 Then let them take a young bullock with his meat-offering, even fine flour mingled with oil, and another young bullock halt thou take for a fin-offering. 9 And thou shalt bring the Levites before the tabernacle of the congregation: and thou shalt gather the whole aflembly of the children of Ifrael together.

10 And thou shalt bring the Levites before

the LORD, and the of Ifrael thall put their hands upon the Levites:

11 And Aaron hall offer the Levites before the LORD, for an offering of the children of Ifrael, that they may execute the fervice of the LORD.

17 For all the first-born of the children of Ifrael are mine, both man and beaft: on the day that I fmote every firft-born in the land of Egypt I fanctified them for myself.

18 And I have taken the Levites for all the first-born of the children of Ifrael.

19 And I have given the Levites as a gift to Aaron, and to his fons, from among the children of Ifrael, to do the fervice of the children of Ifrael in the tabernacle of the cungregation, and to make an atonement for the children of Ifrael; that there be no plague among the children of Ifrael, when the children of Ifrael come nigh unto the fanctuary,

zo And Mofes, and Aaron, and all the congregation of the children of Ifrael, did to the Levites according unto all that the LORD commanded Mofes concerning the Levites, so did the children of Ifrael unto them.

The passover enjoined 21 And the Levites were purified, and they wathed their clothes: and Aaron of. fered them as an offering before the LORD; and Aaron made an atonement for them to cleanse them.

22 And after that went the Levites in to do their fervice in the tabernacle of the congregation before Aaron, and before his fons: as the LORD had commanded Mo. fes concerning the Levites, fo did they unto

them.

23 And the LORD fpake unto Mofes, faying,

24 This is it that belongeth wnto the Le vites; from twenty and five years old and upward they thall go in to wait upon the fervice of the tabernacle of the congregation:

25 And from the age of fifty years they fhall ceafe waiting upon the service thereof, and thall ferve no more;

26 But fhall minifter with their brethren in the tabernacle of the congregation, to keep the charge, and thall do no fervice.

Thus fhalt thou do unto the Levites touch. ing their charge.

CHAP. IX.

1 The pasover enjoined. 15 A cloud guideth the Ifraelites. AND the LORD fpake unto Mofes in the wilderness of Sinai, in the first month of the fecond year after they were come out of the land of Egypt, faying,

2 Let the children of Ifrael also keep the paffover at his appointed feason.

3 In the fourteenth day of this month at even ye fhall keep it in his appointed feafon: according to all the rites of it, and according to all the ceremonies thereof, thall ye keep it.

4 And Mofes fpake unto the children of Ifrael, that they should keep the paffover.

5 And they kept the paffover on the four, teenth day of the first month at even in the wilderness of Sinal: according to all that the LORD commanded Mofes, fo did the children of Ifrael.

6 And there were certain men who were defiled by the dead body of a man, that they could not keep the paffover on that day; and they came before Mofes and before Aaron on that day.

7 And thofe men faid unto him, We are defiled by the dead body of a man; where. fore are we kept back, that we may not offer an offering of the LORD in bis appointed fea. fon among the children of Ifrael:

8 And Mofes faid unto them, Stand ftill, and I will hear what the LORD will com mand concerning you.

9And the LORD ipake unto Mofes, faying, To Speak unto the children of Ifrael, say ing, If any man of you, or of your potterity, fhall be unclean by reafon of a dead body, or be in a journey afar off, yet he thall keep the paffover unto the LORD.

The fourteenth day of the fecond month at even they shall keep it, and eat it with unleavened bread and bitter berbs.

12 They hall leave none of it unto the morning, nor break any bone of it; accord. ing to all the ordinances of the pairover they hali keep it.

13 But the man that is clean, and is not in a journey, and forbeareth to keep the pallover, even the fame foul thail be cut off from

7 But when the congregation is to be ga thered together ye shall blow, but ye thall not found an alarm.

14 And if a stranger thall fojourn among you, and will keep the paffover unto the LORD; according to the ordinance of the paffover, and according to the manner thereof, fo thall he do; ye fhall have one ordinance, both for the ftranger, and for him that was born in the land.

15 And on the day that the tabernacle was reared up the cloud covered the tabernacle, namely, the tent of the teftimony: and at even there was upon the tabernacle as it were the appearance of fire until the morning. 16 So it was alway: the cloud covered it by day, and the appearance of fire by night.

17 And when the cloud was taken up from the tabernacle, then after that the children of Ifrael journeyed: and in the place where the cloud abode, there the children of Ifrael pitched their tents.

18 At the commandment of the LORD the children of Ifrael journeyed and at the commandment of the LORD they pitched: as long as the cloud abode upon the tabernacle they rested in their tents.

19 And when the cloud tarried long upon the tabernacle many days, then the children of Ifrael kept the charge of the LORD, and journeyed not.

20 And fo it was, when the cloud was a few days upon the tabernacle; according to the commandment of the LORD they abode in their tents, and according to the command. ment of the LORD they journeyed.

21 And jo it was, when the cloud abode from even unto the morning, and that the cloud was taken up in the morning, then they journeyed: whether it was by day or by night that the cloud was taken up they journeyed.

8 And the fons of Aaron the priests fall blow with the trumpets: and they shall be to you for an ordinance for ever throughout! your generations.

9 And if ye go to war in your land againft the enemy that oppreffeth you, then ye shall blow an alarm with the trumpets: and ye fhall be remembered before the LORD your God, and ye shall be faved from your enemies. 10 Alfo in the day of your gladnefs, and in your folemn days, and in the beginnings of your months, ye shall blow with the trum➡ pets over your burnt-offerings, and over the. facrifices of your peace-offerings; that they may be to you for a memorial before your God: I am the LORD your God.

11 And it came to pafs, on the twentieth day of the fecond month, in the second year, that the cloud was taken up from off the tabernacle of the teftimony.

12 And the children of Ifrael took their journeys out of the wilderness of Sinai; and the cloud retted in the wilderness of Paran.

13 And they first took their journey, ac cording to the commandment of the LORD by the hand of Mofes.

14 In the first place went the ftandard of the camp of the children of Judah, according to their armies: and over his hoft was Nahfhon the fon of Amminadab.

15 And over the hoft of the tribe of the children of Iffachar was Nethaneel the fon of Zuar.

16 And over the host of the tribe of the chil dren of Zebulun was Eliab the fon of Helos.

17 And the tabernacle was taken down : and the fons of Gershon and the fons of Merari fet forward, bearing the tabernacle.

18 And the ftandard of the camp of Reu ben fet forward, according to their armies: and over his hoft was Elizur the fon of Shedeur.

19 And over the host of the tribe of the chil dren of Simeon was Shelumiel the fon of Zurishaddai.

22 Or whether it were two days, or a month, or a year, that the cloud tarried upon the tabernacle, remaining thereon, the children of Ifrael abode in their tents, and journeyed not; but when it was taken up they journeyed.

23 At the commandment of the LORD they reted in the tents, and at the commandment of the LORD they journeyed: they kept the charge of the LORD, at the commandtent of the LORD by the hand of Mofes. CHAP. X.

The use of the filver trumpets. 33 Mofes's bleng. AN ND the LORD fpake unto Mofes, faying, 2 Make thee two trumpets of filver; of a whole piece shalt thou make them, that thou mayetf use them for the calling of the affembly, and for the journeying of the camps.

3 And when they thail blow with them, all the affenibly thall affemble themfelves to thee at the door of the tabernacle of the congregation.

4 And if they blow but with one trumpet, then the princes, which are heads of the thioufands of Ifrael, thall gather themfelves unto thee.

When ye blow an alarm, then the camp that lie on the eaft parts fhall go forward. 6 When ye blow an alarm the fecond time, then the camps that lie on the fouth fide thall take their journey they thall blow an alarm for their journeys.

20 And over the host of the tribe of the chil dren of Gad as Eliafaph the fon of Deuel.

21 And the Kohathites fet forward, bearing the fanctuary; and the other did fet up the tabernacle against they came

22 And the ftandard of the camp of the children of Ephraim fet forward, according to their armies: and over his hoft was EI fhama the fon of Ammihud.

23 And over the host of the tribe of the children of Manaffeh was Gamaliel the fo of Pedahzur.

24 And over the host of the tribe of the children of Benjamin was Abidan the fon of Gideoni.

25 And the ftandard of the camp of the children of Dan fet forward, which was the rereward of all the camps throughout their hofls: and over his host was Ahiezer the fon of Ammishaddai.

26 And over the hoft of the tribe of the chil dren of Afher, was Pagiel the fon of Ocran.

27 And over the hott of the tribe of the chil-! dren of Naphtali quas Ahira the son of Enan

28 Thus were the journeyings of the chil dren of Ifrael, according to their armies when they fet forward.

29¶ And Mofes faid unto Hobab, the fon of
Raguel the Midianite, Mofes father-in-law,
We are journeying unto the place of which
the LORD faid, I will give it you: come thou
with us, and we will do thee good; for the
LORD hath spoken good concerning Ifrael.
30 And he faid unto him, I will not go;
but I will depart to mine own land, and to
my kindred.

Chap. 21.

31. And he said, Leave us not, I pray thee; forafmuch as thou knoweft how we are to encamp in the wilderness, and thou mayett be to us inftead of eyes.

32 And it thall be, if thou go with us, yes, it fhall be, that what goodness the LORD hall do unto us, the fame will we do unto thee.

33 And they departed from the mount of the LORD three day's journey: and the ark of the covenant of the LORD went before them in the three days journey, to fearch out a refting-place for them.

34 And the cloud of the LORDwas upon them by day when they went out of the camp.

35 And it came to pafs, when the ark fet forward, that Mofes faid, Rife up, LORD, and let thine enemies be fcattered; and let them that hate thee flee before thee.

36 And when it retted he faid, Return, O LORD, unto the many thousands of Ifrael. CHAP. XI.

1 Manna lotbed. 16 Seventy elders appointed. 31 Quails given.

ND when the people complained, it dif

it; and his anger was kindled: and the fire of the LORD burnt among them, and confumed them that were in the uttermott parts of the camp. 2 And the people cried unto Mofes; and when Mofes prayed unto the LORD, the fire was quenched.

3 And he called the name of the place Taberah: because the fire of the LORD burnt among them.

4 And the mixed multitude that was among them fell a lufting: and the children of lfrael alfo wept again, and faid, Who shall give us flesh to eat!

We remember the fish which we did eat in Egypt freely; the cucumbers, and the melons, and the leeks, and the onions, and the garlick.

6 But now our foul is dried away: there is nothing at all, befides this manna, before

our eyes.

7 And the manna was as coriander-feed, and the colour thereo's the colour of bdellium.

8. And the people went about, and gathered it, and ground it in mills, or beat it in a mortar, and baked it in pans, and made cakes of it: and the taste of it was as the tatle of fresh oil.

Elders appointed 12 Have I conceived all this people? have I begotten them, that thou thouldeft fay un. to me, Carry them in thy bofom (as a nur fing-father beareth the fuckling child)untothe land which thou fwareft unto their fathers!

13 Whence thould I have Beth to give un to all this people! For they weep unto me, faying, Give us flesh, that we may eat.

14 I am not able to bear all this people alone, because it is too heavy for me.

15 And if thou deal thus with me, kill me, I pray thee, out of hand, if I have found favour in thy fight; and let me not fee my wretchednets.

9 And when the dew fell upon the camp in the night, the manna fell upon it.

10 Then Mofes heard the people weep throughout their families, every man in the door of his tent : and the anger of the LORD was kindled greatly; Mofes also was dif pleafed.

11 And Mofes faid unto the LORD, Wherefore hast thou afflicted thy fervant and wherefore have I not found favour in thy fight, that thou layet the burden of all this people upon me i

16 And the LORD faid unto Mofes, Gather unto me feventy men of the elders of Ifrael, whom thou knoweft to be the elders of the people, and officers over them; and bring them unto the tabernacleof the congregation, that they may stand there with thee.

17 And I will conie down, and talk with thee there: and I will take of the fpirit which is upon thee, and will put it upon them; and they thall bear the burden of the people with thee, that thou bear it not thyfelf alone.

18 And fay thou unto the people, Sanctify yourselves against to-morrow, and ye shall eat fein: (for ye have wept in the ears of the LORD, faying, Who shall give us flesh to eat? for it was well with us in Egypt :) therefore the LORD will give you fleth, and ye hall eat.

19 Ye shall not eat one day, nor two days, nor five days, neither ten days, nor twenty days;

20 But even a whole month, until it come cut at your noftrils, and it be loathfome unto you: because that ye have defpifed the LORD which is among you, and have wept before him, faying, Why came we forth out of Egypt?

21 And Mofes faid, The people among whom I am are fix hundred thousand foot. men; and thou haft faid, I will give them fieth, that they may eat a whole month.

22 Shall the flocks and the herds be flaln for them, to fuffice them? or fhall all the fish of the fea be gathered together for them, to fuffice them?

23 And the LORD faid unto Mofes, Is the LORD's hand waxed thort? Thou shalt fee now whether my word hall come to pafs unto thee or not.

24 And Mofes went out, and told the peo. ple the words of the LORD, and gathered the feventy men of the elders of the people, and fet them round about the tabernacle.

25 And the LORD came down in a cloud, and fpake unto him, and took of the fpirit that was upon him, and gave it unto the feventy elders: and it came to pass that, when the fpirit refted upon them, they pro phefied, and did not cease.

26 But there remained two of the men in the camp, the name of the one was Eldad, and the name of the other Medad: and the fpirit retted upon them, (and they were of them that were written, but went not out unto the tabernacle,) and they prophefiedin the camp.

27 And there ran a young man, and told Mofes, and faid, Eldad and Medad do pro. phefy in the camp.

28 And Joshua the fon of Nun, the fervant of Mofes, one of his young men, anfwered, and faid, My lord Mofes, forbid them.

29 And Mofes faid unto him, Envieit thou
