By M. A. Orr (Mrs J. Evershed). 61 Plates and Illustrations.
Demy 8vo. 20/- net. (Post 9d).

This important work, written by a lady well known in astronomical circles, is the result of ten years' special study of the numerous astronomical references in Dante's works.

The far reaching influence exerted on the ideas of Dante's time, by ancient theories of the nature and order of the universe are traced out in detail through his works. Astronomical references from numerous commentators on Dante are focussed in one volume, and discussed by an expert in astronomy who has a thorough knowledge both of Dante's works, and the sources of his information.

As a work of reference, and a popular explanation of the discoveries and contributions of ancient astronomers, the book is of great value.
