Sunday in Advent: ¶ When the Presbyter or Deacon readeth the Gospel, the people shall stand up: and the Presbyter before he beginneth to read the Gospel, shall say thus: The Gospel of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, written in such a chapter of such an Evangelist, beginning at such a verse. And the people shall answer; Glory be to God.] verse. And then the people all standing up shall say: Glory be to thee, O Lord. At the end of the Gospel, the Presbyter shall say: So ends the holy Gospel. And the people shall answer: Thanks be to thee, O Lord. And the Epistle and Gospel being ended, shall be said or sung this Creed, all still reverently standing up.
