THE JUDICIARY.

THE COURT FOR THE TRIAL OF THE IMPEACHMENTS

Is composed of the President of the Senate, the Senators and the Judges of the Court of Appeals.

THE COURT OF APPEALS

Consists of eight Judges. Four are elected on a general ticket, and serve eight years, and four are selected from Justices of the Supreme Court having the shortest time to serve. The Judge, of the four chosen at large, having the shortest term to serve, acts as Chief Judge. Six Judges constitute a quorum. This Court is composed of the following named Judges:

The Judges of the Court of Appeals from the Supreme Court are taken this year from the odd numbered districts. Their terms all expire in 1850. TERMS.-There are four terms of this Court, commencing at Albany, 1st Tuesday of January, 4th Tuesday of March, 3d Tuesday of June, and 4th Tuesday of September.

THE SUPREME COURT

Consists of thirty-three Justices. The State is divided into eight Judicia' Districts One Justice is elected in each district every alternate year (1857, 1859, &c.) Each Justice hasa salary of $2,500 per annum ; elected since 1856, $3,500.

The General Terms are to be held by the Justices of the District in which they are to be held. A Court of Oyer and Terminer is to be held at the same time and place with every Circuit, except in the city of New York, where the Courts of Oyer and Terminer are to be held at the same time with the Circuit Courts for January, April, October and December in each year.

Special Terms are to be held at the same time and place with every Circuit, except in New York, Kings and Erie.
