The work here offered to the public is founded on the best authorities, which are
mentioned in the preface. The subject is not entirely new to the public, part of it
having, a few years ago, engaged the attention of Parliament, but even that part was never
detailed or understood in this country. The Engravings consists of two Plates, the one robe
presenting the first Peace made with Old Cudjoe; the other representing a Spanish Chasseur

with his dogs; a subject which raised a groundless clamour, respecting the last Varoes War. Of the Maps, one is a general view of the Island of Jamaica ; the other ciapisys the seat of the Maroon War, and was presented to the author by James Robertson, Esq.
