OPENING AND CLOSE OF PUBLIC WORSHIP.
Public Adoration. Ps. 100
1 BEFORE Jehovah's awful throne, Ye nations, bow with sacred joy! Know that the Lord is God alone: He can create, and he destroy.
2 His sovereign power, without our aid, Made us of clay, and formed us men; And when, like wandering sheep, we strayed, He brought us to his fold again.
3 We are his people, we his care,- Our souls and all our mortal frame : What lasting honors shall we rear, Almighty Maker, to thy name?
4 We'll crowd thy gates with thankful songs; High as the heavens our voices raise; And earth, with her ten thousand tongues, Shall fill thy courts with sounding praise.
5 Wide as the world is thy command, Vast as eternity thy love;
Firm as a rock thy truth shall stand When rolling years shall cease to move.
1 BE joyful in God, all ye lands of the earth; O serve him with gladness and fear; Exult in his presence with music and mirth; With love and devotion draw near.
2 Jehovah is God, and Jehovah aloneCreator and Ruler o'er all;
And we are his people-his sceptre we ownHis sheep, and we follow his call.
3 0 enter his gates with thanksgiving and song; Your vows in his temple proclaim;
His praise with melodious accordance prolong; And bless his adorable name.
4 For good is the Lord, inexpressibly good, And we are the work of his hand; His mercy and truth from eternity stood, And shall to eternity stand.
Public Worship. Ps. 95.
1 O COME, loud anthems let us sing, Loud thanks, to our almighty King; For we our voices high should raise When our salvation's Rock we praise.
2 Into his presence let us haste To thank him for his favors past; To him address, in joyful songs, The praise that to his name belongs.
3 For God, the Lord, enthroned in state, Is with unrivalled glory great- The King eternal over all
Whom by the title gods we call.
4 The depths of earth are in his hand- Her secret wealth at his command; The strength of hills that threat the skies Subjected to his empire lies.
5 The rolling ocean's vast abyss By the same sovereign right is his; "Tis moved by his almighty hand, That formed and fixed the solid land.
60 let us to his courts repair,
And bow in adoration there- With joy and fear, devoutly, all Before the Lord, our Maker, fall.
Public Worship. Ps. 95.
1 COME, sound his praise abroad, And hymns of glory sing: Jehovah is the sovereign God, The universal King.
2. He formed the deeps unknown; He gave the seas their bound; The watery worlds are all his own, And all the solid ground.
3 Come, worship at his throne;
Come, bow before the Lord.
We are his works, and not our own: He formed us by his word.
4 To-day attend his voice, Nor dare provoke his rod; Come, like the people of his choice, And own your gracious God.
5. 6s 6s & 4s M. ANONYMOUS.
1 COME, thou almighty King, Help us thy name to sing- Help us to praise. Father all-glorious,
O'er all victorious,
Come and reign over us, Ancient of days.
2 Come, thou eternal Lord, By heaven and earth adored, Our prayer attend.
Come, and thy people bless; Give thy good word success; Make thine own holiness On us descend.
3 Be thou our comforter; Thy sacred witness bear In this glad hour. Omnipotent thou art: O, rule in every heart, And ne'er from us depart, Spirit of power!
4 O Holy One! to thee
Eternal praises be
Hence, evermore. Thy sovereign majesty
May we in glory see, And to eternity
Love and adore.
1 WHEN before thy throne we kneel, Filled with awe and holy fear, Teach us, O our God, to feel All thy sacred presence near.
2 Check each proud and wandering thought When on thy great name we call; Man is nought-is less than nought: Thou, our God, art all in all.
3 Weak, imperfect creatures, we In this vale of darkness dwell; Yet presume to look to thee 'Midst thy light ineffable.
4 O, receive the praise that dares Seek thy heaven-exalted throne; Bless our offerings, hear our prayers, Infinite and Holy One!
Homage and Devotion.
1 WITH sacred joy we lift our eyes To those bright realms above- That glorious temple in the skies Where dwells eternal love.
