The righteousness of the perfect shall
direct his way,

But the wicked shall fall by his own
wickedness.

The righteousness of the upright shall
deliver them,

But transgressors shall be taken in
their own naughtiness.

When a wicked man dieth, his ex-
pectation shall perish,

And the hope of unjust men perisheth.
The righteous is delivered out of
trouble,

And the wicked cometh in his stead.

2. When it goeth well with the right-
eous, the city rejoiceth:
And when the wicked perish, there is
shouting.

By the blessing of the upright the
city is exalted:

But it is overthrown by the mouth of
the wicked.

As righteousness tendeth to life:
So he that pursueth evil pursueth it to
his own death.

Blessings are upon the head of the just,
But violence covereth the mouth of
the wicked.

The wicked watcheth the righteous,

The Lord will not leave him in his hand,

Mark the perfect man, and behold the upright,

For the end of that man is peace. But the transgressors shall be destroyed together;

The end of the wicked shall be cut off.

But the salvation of the righteous is of the Lord;

He is their strength in the time of trouble.

And the Lord shall help them, and deliver them:

He shall deliver them from the wicked, and save them,

Because they trust in him.
