A SELECTION OF CASES AND OTHER AUTHORITIES UPON CRIMINAL LAW BY JOSEPH HENRY BEALE ROYALL PROFESSOR OF LAW IN HARVARD UNIVERSITY THIRD EDITION CAMBRIDGE HARVARD UNIVERSITY 1915 PREFACE TO THE THIRD EDITION. A REARRANGEMENT of courses in the Harvard Law School has taken out of the course on Criminal Law and included in a new course the topics of Causation, Justification, and Excuse. The chapters in which these topics were considered have therefore been removed from this book. This third edition is identical with the second, except that the chapters mentioned, viz., Chapters V, VIII, and IX, and part of Chapter III of the old edition, have been removed; but this change has made necessary an entire renumbering of the pages in this edition. CAMBRIDGE, January 1, 1915. JOSEPH HENRY BEALE. CHAPTER III. THE OFFENCE: MODIFYING CIRCUMSTANCES. Section I. Participation of a Public Officer 320 Section III. Joint Principals 412 |
