brother without a cause shall be in danger of the judgment: and whosoever shall say to his brother, Raca, shall be in danger of the council; but whosoever shall say, Thou fool, shall be in danger of hell fire. Lev. xix. 17. Thou shalt not hate thy brother in thine heart: thou shall in any wise rebuke thy neighbour, and not suffer sin upon him. 1 John iv. 20. If a man say, I love God, and hateth his brother, he is a liar: for he that loveth not his brother whom he hath seen, how can he love God whom he hath not seen? Tit. iii. 3. For we ourselves also were sometimes foolish, disobedient, deceived, serving divers lusts and pleasures, living in malice and envy, hateful, and hating one another. Eph. iv. 31. Let all bitterness, und wrath, and anger, and clamour, and evil speaking, be put away from you, with all malice. Col. iii. 8. But now ye also put off all these; anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, filthy communication out of your mouth. Gal. v. 19-21. Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things, shall not inherit the kingdom of God. Prov. xxviii. 25. He that is of a proud heart stirreth up strife: but he that putteth his trust in the Lord, shall be made fat. Mark vii. 22, 23. Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name, and in thy name have cast out devils, and in thy name have done many wonderful works? And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you; depart from me, ye that work iniquity. Rom. i. 28, 29. And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient ; being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness covetousness, maliciousness, debate, deceit, malignity. Prov. xiii. 10. Only by pride cometh contention: but with the well advised is wisdom. Rom. ii. 8. But unto them

that are contentious, and do not obey the truth, but obey unrighteousness, indignation and wrath. Matt. vii. 1. Judge not, that ye be not judged. Rom. ii. 1-3. Therefore thou art inexcusable, O man, whosoever thou art thut judgest; for wherein thou judgest another, thou condemnest thyself: for thou that judgest doest the same things. But we are sure that the judgment of God is according to truth against them which commit such things. And thinkest thou this, O man, that judgest them which do such things, and doest the same, that thou shalt escape the judgment of God? Prov. xxii. 10. Cast out the scorner, and contention shall go out; yea, strife and reproach shall cease. Prov. xx. 3. It is an honour for a man to cease from strife: but every fool will be meddling. Jam. iv. 1, 2. (See above.) Matt. xv. 18-20. But those things which proceed out of the mouth, come forth from the heart; and they defile the man. out of the heart proceed evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false witness, blasphemies; these are the things which defile a man: but to eat with unwashen hands, defileth not a man. James iii. 5, 6. Even so the tongue is a little member, and boasteth great things. Behold, how great a matter a little fire kindleth! And the tongue is a fire, a world of iniquity: so is the tongue among our members, that it defileth the whole body, and setteth on fire the course of nature; and it is set on fire of hell. Jam. iv. 11. Speak not evil one of another, brethHe that speaketh evil of his brother, and judgeth his brother, speaketh evil of the law, and judgeth the law: but if thou judge the law, thou art not a doer of the law, but a judge. Prov. xii. 18. There is that speaketh like the piercings of a sword: but the tongue of the wise is health. 1 Cor. vi. 10. Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God. Ephes. iv. 31. (See above.) 2 Tim. ii. 16, 17. But shun profane and vain babblings: for they will increase unto more ungodliness. And their word will cat, as doth a canker. Prov. xviii. 5. It is not good to accept the per

son of the wicked, to overthrow the righteous in judgment. Lev. xix. 14. Thou shalt not curse the deaf, nor put a stumbling block before the blind, but shalt fear thy God: I am the Lord. Tit. iii. 2. To speak evil of no man, to be no brawlers, but gentle, shewing all meekness unto all men. Prov. xii. 18. (See above.) Isai. Iviii. 9. Then shalt thou call, and the Lord shall answer thee; thou shalt cry, and he shall say, Here I am. If thou take away from the midst of thee, the yoke, the putting forth of the finger, the speaking vanity. Prov. vi. 17. A proud look, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood. Acts xvi. 27, 28. And the keeper of the prison awaking out of his sleep, and seeing the prison doors open, he drew out his sword, and would have killed himself, supposing that the prisoners had been fled. But Paul cried with a loud voice, Do thyself no harm: for we are all here. Exod. xx. 13. (See above.) Matt. xxvii. 5, 6. And he cast down the pieces of silver in the temple, and departed and went and hanged himself. And the chief priests took the silver pieces, and said, It is not lawful for to put them into the treasury, because it is the price of blood. Kings ii. 23, 24. Then king Solomon sware by the Lord, saying, God do so to me, and more also, if Adonijah have not spoken this word against his own life. Now therefore as the Lord liveth, which hath established me, and set me on the throne of David my father, and who hath made me an house, as he promised, Adonijah shall be put to death this day. Numb. xxxv. 16. And if he smite him with an instrument of iron, so that he die, he is a murderer: the murderer shall surely be put to death. Lam. iii. 39. Wherefore doth a living man complain, a man for the punishment of his sins? Jude, 16. There are murmurers, complainers, walking after their own lusts; and their mouth speaketh great swelling words of vanity, having men's persons in admiration, because of advantage. Psal. xxxv. 26. Let them be ashamed and brought to confusion together that rejoice at mine hurt: let them be clothed with shame and dishonour that magnify them

selves against me. Phil. ii. 3. Let nothing be done through strife or vain glory; but in lowliness of mind tet each esteem other better than themselves. 2 Cor. vii. 10. For godly sorrow worketh repentance unto life not to be repented of: but the sorrow of the world worketh death. 1 Thess. iv. 13. But I would not have you ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not even as others which have no hope. Prov. xxi. 17. 25. He that loveth pleasure, shall be a poor man; he that loveth wine and oil, shall not be rich. The desire of the slothful killeth him; and his hands refuse to labour. Prov. xxiii. 1-3. 20, 21. When thou sittest to eat with a ruler, consider diligently what is before thee: and put a knife to thy throat, if thou be a man given to appetite. Be not desirous of his dainties: for they are deceitful meat. Be not among wine bibbers; among riotous eaters of flesh : for the drunkard and the glutton shall come to poverty: and drowsiness shall clothe a man with rags. Luke xxi. 34. And take heed to yourselves, lest at any time your hearts be overcharged with surfeiting, and drunkenness, and cares of this life, and so that day come upon thee unawares. Rom. xiii. 13, 14. Let us walk honestly as in the day: not in rioting and drunkenness, not in chambering and wantonness, not in strife and envying. But put ye on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make not provision for the flesh, to fulfil the lusts thereof. Gal. v. 19-21. (See above.) Prov. xx. 13. Love not sleep, lest thou come to poverty; open thine eyes, and thou shalt be satisfied with bread. Ezek. xvi. 49. Behold, this was the iniquity of thy sister Sodom, pride, fulness of bread, and abundance of idleness was in her, and in her daughters, neither did she strengthen the hand of the poor and needy. Prov. xxviii. 19. He that tilleth his land shall have plenty of bread: but he that followeth after vain persons shall have poverty enough. Isai. v. 12. And the harp, and the viol, the tabret, and pipe, and wine, are in their feasts; but they regard not the work of the Lord, neither consider the operation of his hands. Prov. i. 10. My son, if sinners entice thee,

consent thou not. Rom. xiv. 13. Let us not therefore judge one another any more: but judge this rather, that no man put a stumbling block or an occasion to fall in his brother's way. 1 Tim. v. 22. Lay hands suddenly on no man, neither be partakers of other men's sins: keep thyself pure.

SECTION IV.

Gen. ix. 6. Whoso sheddeth man's blood, by man shall his blood be shed: for in the image of God made he man. Numb. xxxv. 31. 33. Moreover, ye shall take no satisfaction for the life of a murderer, which is guilty of death: but he shall be surely put to death. So ye shall not pollute the land wherein ye are; for blood, it defileth the land: and the land cannot be cleansed of the blood that is shed therein, but by the blood of him that shed it. Psal. v. 6. Thou shalt destroy them that speak leasing; the Lord shall abhor the bloody and deceitful man. Prov. vi. 16, 17. These six things doth the Lord hate; yea, seven are an abomination unto him; A proud look, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood. Ezek. xxxv. 6. Therefore, as I live, saith the Lord, I will prepare thee unto blood, and blood shall pursue thee: sith, thou hast not hated blood, even blood shall pursue thee. Matt. v. 17. 21, 22. Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets : I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil. Ye have heard that it was said by them of old time, Thou shalt not kill; and whosoever shall kill, shall be in danger of the judgment; but I say unto you, that whosoever is angry with his brother without a cause, shall be in danger of the judgment; and whosoever shall say to his brother, Raca, shall be in danger of the council; but whosoever shall say, Thou fool, shall be in danger of hell fire. 1 John iii. 15.
