SECTION IV.

Matt. xxv. 32. And before him shall be gathered all nations: and he shall separate them one from another, as a shepherd divideth his sheep from the goats. 1 Pet. iv. 5, Who shall give account to him that is ready to judge the quick and dead. Acts xxvi. 8. Why should it be thought a thing incredible with you, that God should raise the dead? Job xii. 10. In whose hand is the soul of every living thing, and the breath of all mankind. Gen. xviii. 14. Is any thing too hard for the Lord? At the time appointed I will return unto thee, according to the time of life, and Sarah shall have a son. Matt. xix. 26. But Jesus beheld them, and said unto them, With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible. Jer. xxvii. 5. I have made the earth, the man and the beast that are upon the ground, by my great power, and by my outstretched arm, and have given it unto whom it seemed meet to me.

SECTION V.

1 Cor. xv. 35-52. If after the manner of men I have fought with beasts at Ephesus, what advantage it me, if the dead rise not? Let us eat and drink, for to-morrow we die. Be not deceived, evil communications corrupt good manners. Awake to righteousness, and sin not; for some have not the knowledge of God; I speak this to your shame. But some man will say, How are the dead raised up? and with what body do they come? Thou fool, that which thou sowest, thou sowest not that body that shall be, but bare grain, it may chance of wheat, or of some other grain: but God giveth it a body as it hath pleased him, and to every seed his own body: All flesh is not the same flesh : but there is one kind of flesh of men, another of beasts, another of fishes, and another of birds. There are also celestial bodies, and bodies terrestrial; but the glory of the ce

lestial is one, and the glory of the terrestrial is another. There is one glory of the sun, and another glory of the moon, and another glory of the stars; for one star differeth from another star in glory. So also, is the resurrection of the dead. It is sown in corruption; it is raised in incorruption: it is sown in dishonour ; it is raised in glory: it is sown in weakness; it is raised in power: it is sown a natural body; it is raised a spiritual body. There is a natural body, and there is a spiritual body. And so it is written, The first Adam was made a living soul; the last Adam was made a quickening spirit. Howbeit that was not first which is spiritual, but that which is natural; and afterward that which is spiritual. The first man is of the earth, earthy: the second man is the Lord from heaven. As is the earthy, such are they also that are earthy: and as is the heavenly, such are they also that are heavenly. And as we have borne the image of the earthy, we shall also bear the image of the heavenly. Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God, neither doth corruption inherit incorruption. Behold, I shew you a mystery; we shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised. Phil. iii. 21. Who shall change our vile body that it may be fushioned like unto his glorious body, according to the working whereby he is able to subdue all things unto himself.

SECTION VI.

2 Cor. iv. 14. Knowing that he which raised up the Lord Jesus from the dead, shall raise up us also by Jesus, and shall present us with you. Rom, iv. 17. 23. 24, 25. (As it is written, I have made thee a father of many nations,) before him whom he believed, even God, who quickeneth the dead, and calleth those things which be not as though they were. Now it was not written for his sake alone

that it was imputed to him, but for us also, to whom it shall be imputed, if we believe on him that raised up Jesus our Lord from the dead: who was delivered for our offences, and was raised again for our justification. 2 Cor. i. 9. But we had the sentence of death in ourselves, that we should not trust in ourselves, but in God which raiseth the dead. John x. 17, 18. Therefore doth my Father love me, because I lay down my life that I might take it again. No man taketh it from me, but I lay it down of myself. I have power to lay it down, and I have power to take it again. This commandment have I received of my Father. John v. 21. 25. 28, 29. For as the Father raiseth up the dead, and quickeneth them; even so the Son quickeneth whom he will. Verily, verily, I say unto you, The hour is coming and now is, when the dead shall hear the voice of the Son of God; and they which hear, shall live. Marvel not at this: for the hour is coming in the which all that are in the grave shall hear his voice and shall come forth; they which have done good, unto the resurrection of life; they which have done evil, unto the resurrection of damnation. Matt. xxiv. 31. And he shall send his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together his elect, from the four winds, from one end of heaven unto the other.

SECTION VII.

Matt. xxiv. 30. And then shall appear the sign of the Son of Man in heaven and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of Man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory. 2 Cor. v. 1-4. For we know that if our earthly house of this tabernacle were destroyed, we have a building of God, an house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens. For in this we groan, earnestly desiring to be clothed upon with our house which is from heaven, if so be, that being clothed we shall not be found naked. For

we that are in this tabernacle do groan being burthened: not for that we would be unclothed, but clothed upon; that mortality might be swallowed up of life. Acts iii. 19-21. Repent ye, therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord: And he shall send Jesus Christ, which before was preached unto you: whom the heaven must receive until the times of restitution of all things, which God hath spoken by the mouths of the holy prophets since the world began. John xx. 17. Jesus saith unto her, Touch me not: for I am not yet ascended to my Father: but go to my brethren, and say unto them, I ascend unto my Father, and your Father; and to my God, and your God.

SECTION VIII.

Acts xvii. 31. Because he hath appointed a day in the which he will judge the world in righteousness, by that Man whom he hath ordained; whereof he hath given assurance unto all men, in that he hath raised him from the dead. John v. 22. 25, 26, 27. For the Father judgeth no man, but hath committed all judgment unto the Son; Verily, verily, I say unto you, The hour is coming, and now is, when the dead shall hear the voice of the Son of God: and they that hear shall live. For as the Father hath life in himself; so hath he given to the Son to have life in himself; and hath given him authority to execute judgment also, because he is the Son of Man. Rom. ii. 16. In the day when God shall judge the secrets of men by Jesus Christ, according to my Gospel. Rev. i. 7. Behold, he cometh with clouds; and every eye shall see him, and they also which pierced him; and all kindreds of the earth shall wail because of him. Mark xiii. 24-26. But in those days, after that tribulation, the sun shall be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars of heaven shall be shaken, and then shall they see the Son of Man

coming in the clouds of heaven with great power and glory. Matt. xxiv. 38, 39. For as in the days that were before the flood, they were eating and drinking, marrying and giv ing in marriage, until the day that Noah entered into the ark, and knew not until the flood came and took them all away; so shall also the coming of the Son of Man be. 1 Thess. iv. 14-16. For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus shall God bring with him. For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep. For the Lord himself shall descend from. heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first. Mark xiv. 61, 62. But he held his peace, and answered nothing. Again the high priest asked him, and said unto him, Art thou the Christ, the Son of the Blessed. And Jesus said, I am; and ye shall see the Son of Man sitting on the right hand of power, and coming in the clouds of heaven.

SECTION IX.

Mark xiii. 32. But of that day and that hour knoweth no man, no not the angels which are in heaven, neither the Son, but the Father. Matt. xxiv. 36. But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only. Matt. xii. 36. But I say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment. Psal. xeiv. 1—3, 7—10. O Lord God to whom vengeance belongeth ; O God to whom vengeance belongeth, shew thyself. Lift up thyself, thou judge of the earth; render a reward to the proud. Lord how long shall the wicked, how long shal the wicked triumph? Yet they say, The Lord shall not sec, neither shall the God of Jacob regard it. Understand ye brutish among the people; and ye fools when will ye be wise? He that planted the ear shall he not hear? He
