forms of words in which to make our requests known unto God; and they have been arranged alphabetically according to the scope of their petitions, in order to prevent distraction in turning over many leaves to find the necessary prayer.

My own labour, beside compiling and arranging, has been very trifling, being confined to framing part of the Preparation, and translating and condensing St. Cyprian, "De Oratione Dominica." Of this treatise there is, I believe, an Oxford translation, but I have had no opportunity of consulting it.

It remains only to thank many kind friends who have taken an interest in this work.
