Side 3 - The convention shall determine the rules of its own proceedings, choose its own officers, and be the judge of the election, returns and qualifications of its members. In case of a vacancy, by death, resignation or other cause, of any district delegate elected to the convention, such, vacancy shall be filled by a vote of the remaining delegates representing the district in which such vacancy occurs.
Side 104 - ... compensation as herein required, shall be valid, and any employer who makes a deduction for such purpose from the wages or salary of any employee entitled to the benefits of this chapter shall be guilty of a misdemeanor. § 32. Waiver agreements void. — No agreement by an employee to waive his right to compensation under this chapter shall be valid.
Side 39 - ... thereupon make and file with the 'proper officer a certificate setting forth the cause of the vacancy, the name of the person nominated, the office for which he was nominated, the name of the person for whom the new nominee is to be substituted the fact that the committee was authorized to fill vacancies and such further information as is required to be given in an original certificate of nomination.
Side 104 - Claims for compensation or benefits d\ie under this chapter shall not be assigned, released or commuted except as provided by this chapter, and shall be exempt from all claims of creditors and from levy, execution and attachment or other remedy for recovery or collection of a debt, which exemption may not be waived.
Side 107 - The governor may remove any commissioner for inefficiency, neglect of duty or misconduct in office, giving to him a copy of the charges against him, and an opportunity of being publicly heard in person or by counsel in his own defense, upon not less than ten days notice.
Side 108 - A vacancy in the commission shall not impair the right of the remaining commissioners to exercise all the powers of the commission.
Side 106 - ... that jurisdiction of the employer shall, for the purpose of this chapter, be jurisdiction of the insurance carrier and that the insurance carrier shall in all things be bound by and subject to the orders, findings, decisions or awards rendered against the employer for the payment of compensation under the provisions of this chapter.
Side 112 - Such fund shall consist of all premiums and penalties received and paid into the fund, of property and securities acquired by and through the use of moneys belonging to the fund, and of interest earned upon moneys belonging to the fund and deposited or invested as herein provided. Such fund shall be administered by the state insurance manager without liability on the part of the state beyond the amount of such fund.
Side 108 - Each commissioner and deputy shall, for the purposes of this chapter, have power to administer oaths, certify to official acts, take depositions, issue subpoenas, compel the attendance of witnesses and the production of books, accounts, papers, records, documents and testimony.
