In this edition certain aspects have received more emphasis and those of minor importance have been curtailed. Recent scientific achievements have contributed corrections and additions. The statements regarding scarlet fever, diabetes, goiter and iodin are in line with present knowledge in these matters, and the instruction concerning vitamins has been brought up to date.
