The committee will consider the Budget requests for appropriations for the Bureau of Indian Affairs, and we have with us this morning the Commissioner of Indian Affairs, Hon. John Collier, who will please take the witness stand. Mr. Collier, do you care to make a brief general statement to the committee first before we consider the various items? Mr. COLLIER. I will make it very brief, Mr. Chairman. Mr. JOHNSON of Oklahoma. Let me suggest that you include in your statement, if you will, any changes in policy or important changes in the appropriation requested for 1941, or any other material changes in this bill from last year, and such other matters as you might especially like to call to the attention of the committee. GENERAL STATEMENT Mr. COLLIER. The principal change is a Budget cut of $3,760,000. Mr. JOHNSON of Oklahoma.
