This is Samuel Swann's revisal-the first ever printed of North Carolina laws. It is so excessively rare that in 1891 Doctor Stephen B. Weeks wrote that it is almost "unknown.” It has escaped the notice of all historians of the state, and it has even been confidently affirmed that it never was printed. Doctor Weeks then knew of but one copy-in the Charlemagne Tower collection. There is another in the New York Public Library from which our reproduction is taken.
