AN ACT to authorize the publication of the history of the achieveme, in the World War of the soldiers, sailors and marines from the St. of Illinois, and to make an appropriation therefor. WHEREAs : More than 300,000 citizens of the State of Illin nobly responded to the call of the nation during the great World Wa and WHEREAs: It is fitting and proper that the achievements and a complishments of the gallant soldiers, sailors and marines of this Stat and the story of their patriotism and devotion to their country’s cau during that great crisis, should be recorded for the benefit of th present and future generations; and, WHEREAs : Official manuscript histories of the achievements an accomplishments of the members of the Thirty-third Division and th One Hundred Forty Ninth Field Artillery, units of the Army of th United States composed of citizens of Illinois, who served so splendid! under the flag of the United States during the great struggle, jus victoriously terminated, have been prepared for publication and pre sented to the State: now, therefore SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois represented in the General Assembly: The Illinois State Historica Library is hereby authorized and directed to edit and publish th manuscript histories of the Thirty Third Division and the One Hundre Forty Ninth Field Artillery which have been prepared for publicatio and presented to the State. A sufficient number of copies of sai histories shall be published to supply, without cost, each member of said Thirty Third Division and One Hundred Forty Ninth Field Artillery and the family of each deceased member, with one copy thereof. § 2. For the purpose of carrying out the provisions of this Act there is hereby appropriated to the Illinois State Historical Library the sum of $50,000.00 or so much thereof as may be necessary. § 3. The appropriation herein made shall be subject to all the provisions, conditions and limitations of an Act entitled, “An Act in relation to State finance” approved . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 1919, in force July 1, 1919. * AT to create the Illinois Farm Commission, to define its powers and duties, and to make an appropriation therefor. SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, oted in the General Assembly: The Illinois Farm Commission shortly created. The commission shall be composed of five members, * of whom shall be the Director of Agriculture and four of whom all be appointed by the Governor. One member shall be designated o the Governor as the chairman of the commission. The duties and inctions of the commission shall cease and the terms of office of the Alembers thereof shall terminate upon the convening of the Fiftysound General Assembly. The commissioners shall meet and organize as soon as possible after their appointment. § 3. The commissioners shall be reimbursed for necessary travel"g and other expenses, but shall receive no other compensation. § 3. The commission shall have power to appoint a secretary and such other employes as may be necessary and to fix their compensation without regard to the Civil Service Laws of this State. § 4. The commission shall investigate conditions in Illinois regarding operating and leasing of Illinois farm lands the growth of full tenancy in this State; and the maintenance of the fertility of *; and such other questions as may bear upon the problem of crop Poduction and profitable agriculture. § 3. The commission shall report the results of its investigations, other with its recommendations, to the Governor, not later than the "To day of December, 1920. The Governor shall transmit the report "to commission to the Fifty-second General Assembly. ; , ; 5. The Department of Public Works and Buildings shall furish the commission with all necessary printing, binding, stationery and office supplies. § 1.
