This collection of documents was prepared for use in the introductory course in American economic history (Economics 11) at the University of California. Only the more important laws relating to the colonies in America and to the years immediately following the Revolutionary War have been included. In addition to a careful examination of the laws the student will be expected to familiarize himself with the circumstances which led to their enactment, with the degree of their effectiveness, and with the more important amendments subsequently enacted.
